I am a licensed Couple and Family Therapist in Maryland with over 20 years of clinical, teaching, mentoring, and research experience. I am passionate about helping my clients heal from traumas and difficult life experiences, including childhood adversities and relationship aggression. I understand these experiences can be extremely painful and lonely, and profoundly impact us. Carl Jung once said, “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” Similarly, I firmly believe that while traumas and adversities impact us, they do not have to define us. Given the right support, we have limitless potential to be the best version of ourselves. As a therapist, I endeavor to help my clients on their healing journey and to overcome their pain and suffering. I am warm, compassionate, culturally attuned, and authentic. In addition to talk therapy, I integrate body-centered therapies in my work.

I am currently an Associate Professor at University of Maryland where I teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. I am also deeply engaged in clinical research where I work with national and international populations to develop and test programs/treatments that address the relationship between trauma, relational wellbeing, and health outcomes. My work has been published and cited in leading journals.
