My Background

I completed my graduate work in couple and family therapy at the Center for Healthy Families, a community mental health clinic located at the University of Maryland.  I am also trained by the Center for Deployment Psychology (Defense Centers of Excellence) in couple and family therapy for military families.

I am a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the National Military Family Association (NMFA).

In addition to my clinical work, I am a PhD student in the Department of Family Science at the University of Maryland. My research and teaching interests are focused on the health and resiliency of couples and families who experience trauma, particularly the traumas of war and deployment. I also work at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in the Office of Research.

My Expertise

I have experience working with a diverse group of clients on a broad range of clinical concerns, particularly couple issues such as:

  • divorce and separation decisions
  • infidelity
  • loss of intimacy or connection
  • sexual issues
  • communication
  • conflict resolution
  • premarital therapy through the PREPARE/ENRICH program

I also work with military couples and families, and I am sensitive to the unique strengths and challenges of military service.

About Me

We all face challenges in our lives and relationships. Often we are capable of facing these challenges with the help of friends and family, but sometimes we need more help. I believe it takes strength to seek therapy and I hope you find a therapist who values your courage.

I chose to work with Lindsey Hoskins & Associates because it is a therapeutic practice built on compassion, energy, positivity, and growth. We strive to create a safe environment for clients to learn how to cope, to heal, and to make positive changes.  As a Couple and Family Therapist, I work with each person as one part of a larger whole. Whether you come alone or with your partner or family members, I will value each person’s hopes, fears, opinions and experiences.

In my time away from clients and work, I enjoy spending time in the company of my husband and friends, exploring new local restaurants, reading novels, and gardening.

I look forward to becoming part of your journey toward fulfillment, healing, and joy.
